Back in April, the AB InBev concern announced the sale of a stake in a joint venture to Turkish partners with Efes, but nothing has been heard about the deal so far. Instead, a joint venture between Turks and Belgians expanded production in the Russian Federation:
"Anadolu Efes, like other Turkish corporations, speaks neutrally about the events in Ukraine. "I am deeply saddened by everything that is happening in Ukraine. I hope that a common basis for dialogue and restoration of order and peace will be found as soon as possible", - stated CEO of Anadolu Efes Jana Chaka.
According to him, the company is the main source of work for thousands of Russians and Ukrainians and a source of income for thousands of customers and farmers in these countries.
Belgian partners also choose words so as not to upset Russian customers, and avoid the word "war". In one of latest reports AB InBev calls the great war in Ukraine "the conflict between Russia and Ukraine."

AB InBev agreed to sell a $1.3 billion stake in the Russian joint venture to its Turkish partner Anadolu Efes, but the Kremlin opposed it.
Moscow has rejected a deal by which Turkish brewing company Anadolu Efes was to buy AB InBev's stake in a Russian joint venture worth $1.3 billion.
Anadolu Efes, which first agreed to a deal with Budweiser and Stella Artois brewer in December, said on Thursday that Russian authorities had told it that the current structure of the deal had not been approved.
It is noted that the companies said they will review the decision and that normal operations will continue under the leadership of Anadolu Efes.
Russia's decision to block the deal comes amid heightened concern that the country, which has been sanctioned by the US, EU and other countries over the war in Ukraine, will seize even more overseas assets.
